Farmer Steve has finally agreed to let our guests meet the animals of Church Farm. Everyday he feeds our 200 breeding ewes in the barn with hay and sheep nuts. He also keeps training Fraser and Spruce the resident llamas by feeding them by hand. We have Corky the horse and Bryan the pet sheep who are also available to meet. The kids are welcome to help collect the eggs from the hens too, just in time for breakfast!
2012 lambing is due to start on 24th March 2012.
Please note: For all visitors to the farm all footwear should be dipped in our disinfectant (provided) and you should wash your hands thoroughly after your visit to the farm. Please wear suitable clothing and don't forget your cameras!

The picture above was captured when Steve was in the barn feeding the sheep, to which the llamas have recently been introduced to. They are most inquisitive and quite friendly, as you can see! A minor issue that Steve is currently suffering is that the boys think his fingers are carrots! Fraser and Spruce have been brought in order to protect the flocks of sheep. They are very effective at keeping predators away. They will soon be released into the Winsley fields with the sheep. So, if you're out walking, do keep an eye out for them... but don't let your dog chase the sheep - or Fraser or Spruce may take action!
